Slick Licks began with one man’s love for desserts. Charles, our founder, believed ice cream was the way to spread joy, and he poured his heart into building a place where community and sweetness came first. His passion created the foundation for everything we do today.

Through the years, the shop faced Oregon’s long, rainy winters, the challenges of COVID, and a revolving door of ownership. Along the way, Slick Licks shifted from soft serve to hand-packed ice cream and pints, with major investments in equipment and recipes that kept the dream alive.

Now the baton has passed to Jameel—a Keizer native who grew up here but also built his name in Nashville with a thriving coffee business. With roots in Hollywood during the artisan ice cream boom, Jameel knows how to take inspiration from trends while keeping things original. He’s bringing that same passion and creativity back home, blending artisan ice cream with bold coffee influences.

Under his care, Slick Licks is entering a new chapter. We’re doubling down on milkshakes—bigger, creamier, and more indulgent than ever—while also expanding into the health and fitness space with lower-calorie, high-protein vegan sorbets (coming soon). And because plant-based has been in our DNA since the beginning, you’ll always find a wide range of vegan flavors proudly sharing the spotlight.
